Book Review

Masters of Doom tells the story of programmers John Carmack and John Romero, who created Doom, the "3D" shooter game, which invented deathmatch and revolutionized several areas of PC gaming.

I was quickly hooked on the book and enjoyed it immensely. I have always been fascinated by game programming, and here is a book, which is well written and provides insight into, what I find to be an extremely exciting world and the lives of two remarkable individuals, who had a major impact on my own life.

The author describes things, as if he was there and this makes the book a compelling read.

Highly recommended, especially if you lived through this exciting era of PC gaming.
