Song Review

Kamelot has the ability to write songs that feel perfect. Forever is one of those slick songs that click perfectly. Song for Roland was my favorite Kamelot song for a long time, but Forever eventually took the honor. While the song does not have the genius guitar riff of the aforementioned song, it has everything else. The keyboard work is excellent and brings extra tension by underlining the melody in the background, Kahn's voice is soft and effective with a hint of melancholy, speed is high and the melody is forever immortal. The main melody is in fact derived from a classical piece called "Solveig's Song" by Edvard Grieg, a beautiful section from one of his Peer Gynt suites, as can be heard below.
