Quick Review

"Where did we come from?
Why are we here?
Where do we go when we die?
What lies beyond
And what lay before?
Is anything certain in life?"

One Word Review: Inspired

Metropolis Part 2 showcases Dream Theater at one of their creative peaks. The story, inspired by the excellent Kenneth Branagh movie Dead Again, is a true feast of progressive metal and walks the fine line between melody, complexity and technicality with utmost grace, often putting one in focus, but never forgetting the other two in the process.

There is so much good stuff to say about this album and I have it on my "Return to later"-list, to give it the full review it deserves.

The album is a musical marvel and one you can return to again and again. One of the finest albums ever made in the progressive metal genre, or any genre for that matter. It has everything.
